Support for issues with Solarbayer HVS, BioX, or PLT biomass boilers
Receive comprehensive support in case of faults or problems with your Solarbayer HVS wood log boiler, BioX wood log boiler, or PLT pellet boiler
Please select your boiler model.
If you do not know your boiler model, check the type plate or your last measurement certificate, which you received from your local chimney inspector.
Is an error message displayed on the control panel?
If yes, please refer to the manual for more information about this error message and follow the solutions listed there.
Has an exhaust gas test already been carried out by a chimney sweep?
The measurement certificate from the exhaust emission test can be used to perform an informative error analysis with suggested solutions. Click here to go directly to the input screen for the data from the measurement certificate:

HVS Issues
Boiler "does not burn properly"
- Check boiler settings and adjust according to factory specifications
- Forced draft fan must run at constant power. Fan power must not drop below 80%.
- Boiler must be cleaned according to maintenance schedule
- Check nozzle stone for wear
- For HVS-E secondary air supply, set to factory setting (2.5 turns) and adjust during flue gas measurement. (O2 target value = 5-7%)
- Check chimney draft (10-15Pa)
- We recommend using the chimney draft limiter ZUK180 (Item No.: 530042000)
- Check firewood quality
(Moisture 15-18%; log length must correspond to the loading chamber length; 8-10cm edge length)
Boiler heavily fouls
- Check return temperature into the boiler, it can be read at the mixing valve of the return lift (target value: 65 – 70°C)
- Check firewood quality
(Moisture 15-18%; log length must correspond to the loading chamber length; 8-10cm edge length) - Check nozzle stone for wear
- Check loading chamber floor for damage, the secondary air pipes left and right next to the nozzle stone must NOT BE VISIBLE!
- Check flue gas heat exchanger and flue pipe for contamination
- If flue gas temperature is too low (<180°C), some flue gas turbulators can possibly be removed from the boiler
- For HVS-E secondary air supply, set to factory setting (2.5 turns) and adjust during flue gas measurement. (O2 target value = 5-7%)

- Especially in summer and transitional periods, unfavorable pressure conditions can occur in the chimney. In this case, the generated flue gas cannot be transported through the chimney. When lighting up, possibly leave the ignition flap open a little longer to get the chimney up to temperature faster and thus improve the chimney effect.

Registration/connection problems with the PLT app
- The Wi-Fi network must be a 2.4 GHz network
- If a 5 GHz network is also broadcast, it must be broadcast under a different name
- Ensure better Wi-Fi connection in the boiler room (full reception is required)
- Use e.g. a Wi-Fi repeater or a powerline adapter (Wi-Fi over power socket)
- Open the top cover and the boiler door to enable better Wi-Fi connection to the boiler
- Disconnect the boiler completely from the power supply for about 30 seconds and try again
- Reset the Wi-Fi board
- Press button S1 on the back of the Wi-Fi board (PLT Connect card)
- Unlock the Wi-Fi board
- After several unsuccessful connection attempts, the board locks itself for security reasons
- Follow the instructions as described in the manual [Instruction PDF: "Unlocking the Wi-Fi board"]
- Place the Wi-Fi board outside the boiler in a plastic housing
- Bus connection (J4) + power connection required (C1)
- The Wi-Fi network must be a 2.4 GHz network
