Calculation of the collector mounting distance to avoid shading

Flat roof example:
Kollektorverschattung

Example of pitched roof:
Kollektorverschattung

Calculation data:

Comments:

1)
In order to avoid shading throughout the year, the lowest sun position of the year should be specified.
2)
Since the angle of solar radiation in the transition period is between 20° and 40°, a collector tilt angle of approx. 60° is best for heating support.
3)
If the collector is mounted on a pitched roof, the existing roof pitch must also be specified.
